February 3, 2026, Santa Cruz, CA: On Tuesday morning, a hit-and-run bicycle accident occurred at an intersection in Santa Cruz that injured a juvenile.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 7:56 a.m. at the intersection of Soquel Drive and Mar Vista Drive. Police confirmed that a juvenile was riding a bicycle in the area when they were struck by the driver of a gray lifted Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver of the truck fled the scene.
The juvenile was taken to the hospital by their mother, who works at the hospital. They sustained a leg injury but they are expected to recover.
Police did not say if the driver of the truck was apprehended as of yet.
No further details have been released. Police continue their investigation into the collision.
