January 16, 2026, San Luis Obispo, CA: Injuries were reported in a hit-and-run accident that took place in San Luis Obispo and involved a school bus on Friday afternoon.
According to California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at 2:23 p.m. at 1745 SR-246. Police confirmed that a school bus was traveling in the area with a Toyota Rav4 behind it. An SUV allegedly came up behind the Toyota and rear-ended it, pushing it into the school bus. It is then believed that the driver of the SUV fled the scene.
No children on the bus were injured. However, one or more parties were injured and treated on scene. It is not known if any of them were hospitalized.
Police have not said if they found the driver responsible for the accident at this time. The investigation into the accident continues.
