Sacramento, CA – Three people were killed and two others hospitalized on the afternoon of Saturday, January 11, 2026, following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northgate and Del Paso boulevards near the American River Parkway in North Sacramento, according to The Sacramento Bee.

The Sacramento Police Department and Fire Department responded just after 4:30 PM and found two motorists deceased at the scene. Three additional individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment. One of those hospitalized later died, bringing the total fatalities to three, Sacramento Police confirmed.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit were called to the scene to conduct a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Police have not released the identities of those involved, pending notification of next of kin by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities indicated that the area surrounding the intersection was secured during the investigation and that standard investigative procedures, including evidence collection and witness interviews, are ongoing. The cause of the collision remains under review.
