December 25, 2025, Lebec, CA: Two children were tragically killed in a fatal collision on a highway in Lebec on Christmas Day.
According to Bakersfield Now, the accident happened around 2:56 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the area of Vista Del Lago Road. At the time, a driver in a gold Toyota RAV4 was stopped in the median. A blue Nissan Rogue with a family inside was traveling south on the highway when the driver suddenly lost control. The driver of the Nissan crashed into the rear of the Toyota.
Three children were ejected from the Nissan due to the force of the collision. Despite CPR by first responders, two children were tragically pronounced dead on scene due to their injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as Jorge Preciado, was arrested on scene for his role in the accident. He received charges of felony child endangerment.
No further details have been released but police continue their investigation at this time.
