Fresno, CA – On the evening of Saturday, December 20, 2025, a pedestrian collision resulted in fatal injuries to an adult man who was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street with his 8-year-old son, according to The Fresno Bee.

The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident took place around 11:30 PM at Blackstone and Dakota avenues.

Authorities stated that officers arrived at the scene and immediately began performing CPR on the man before emergency medical personnel took over life-saving efforts. The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he died on Sunday as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision. Police confirmed that the child who was with him at the time was not injured.

Investigators said the driver, who was traveling southbound on Blackstone Avenue and approaching a green traffic signal, reported seeing two pedestrians in the crosswalk at the last moment while they were crossing against a red light. Police indicated the driver swerved in an attempt to avoid striking the child, but instead struck the man.

Authorities noted that the driver cooperated fully with the investigation and was evaluated by emergency medical personnel at the scene. Police confirmed that neither the driver nor the child was injured, and the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
