Santa Ana, Clovis Ave Multi-Vehicle Crash Injures E-Scooter Rider

Clovis, CA – On the afternoon of Saturday, December 6, 2025, a multi-vehicle collision involving an electric scooter resulted in a 20-year-old man being hospitalized with major injuries, according to KSEE.

The Clovis Police Department reports that the accident took place around 12:30 PM at the intersection of Santa Ana and Clovis Avenues.

Authorities said the man was riding an electric scooter through the crosswalk when a sedan traveling in the opposite direction stopped to allow him to pass. A pickup behind the sedan failed to slow down and rear-ended the stopped vehicle, pushing it forward into the scooter and striking the rider.

Police said the impact left the scooter rider with significant injuries, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.

The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to conduct a detailed investigation. Officials said neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected in the crash, and the inquiry into the contributing factors remains ongoing.

Wrongful Death Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility.

Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
