San Jose, CA – In the early hours of Friday, November 21, 2025, a single-vehicle collision resulted in a man losing his life, according to KRON.
The San Jose Police Department reports that the accident took place around 1:39 AM on Moorpark Avenue near Monroe Street.
Police said the driver of a black 2016 Subaru was traveling east when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree, leaving the car wrapped around the trunk upon officers’ arrival.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, marking San Jose’s 36th traffic fatality of 2025.
Authorities have not yet released the driver’s identity, and investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash while asking anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
