Bakersfield, CA – Mirian Stephanie Ramirez Masin, 17, has been identified as the girl who lost her life in a single-vehicle crash that left several teens injured on the evening of Sunday, October 19, 2025, according to KGET.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:55 PM on Alfred Harrell Highway east of Fairfax Road in northeast Bakersfield.
Authorities said an 18-year-old male was driving a 2020 white Toyota Camry eastbound with three 17-year-old passengers when he lost control of the vehicle. The car veered into the westbound lane and rolled down an embankment. Emergency responders transported the driver and all three passengers to Kern Medical with moderate to severe injuries.
According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, Ramirez Masin died four days later at 8:22 PM on October 23 from injuries sustained in the crash. Officials confirmed that she was traveling with her twin sister, who was also seriously injured.
A GoFundMe campaign was organized to assist the victims and their families following the incident. The California Highway Patrol said the driver may face vehicular manslaughter charges as the investigation continues.
