San Jose, CA – On the evening of Thursday, October 31, 2025, a motorcycle crash claimed the life of Andres Enrique Mendoza Villanueva, 19, after his vehicle collided with a pickup truck near San Jose High School, according to KRON.

The San Jose Police Department reports that the accident took place around 5:55 PM on North 24th Street near a residential driveway.

Authorities said Villanueva was riding a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed without a helmet when he collided with a 2016 Toyota pickup truck that was backing out of the driveway. Villanueva died at the scene, and the pickup driver remained and cooperated with the investigation.

The crash marked San Jose’s 32nd fatal collision of 2025, underscoring ongoing concerns about motorcycle safety and the importance of protective gear and adherence to traffic laws.
