October 8, 2025, Bakersfield, CA: A fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident took place at an intersection in Bakersfield on Wednesday morning.
According to Bakersfield Now, the accident happened at 1:05 a.m. at the intersection of Roberts Lane and Plymouth Avenue. Police confirmed that a driver was headed east on Roberts in a black Honda Accord. The driver struck a pedestrian who was crossing the eastbound lanes of Roberts.
The pedestrian, identified as a 36-year-old man, sustained severe injuries. They were tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of their injuries.
The driver of the Honda immediately fled the scene of the collision. Police have since found and seized the suspect’s vehicle but have not found the driver as of yet.
No further details have been released but California Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the accident at this time.
