Oildale, CA – On Saturday, October 4, 2025, pedestrian Eric Raymond Truman, 42, died after a vehicle struck him in Oildale, according to KGET.
The Bakersfield Police Department reports that the accident took place around 12:30 AM near Airport Drive, north of State Road.
Emergency medical personnel found Truman in the roadway with severe injuries. They provided treatment, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was declared dead at the scene.
Investigators said the driver was heading north on Airport Drive and approached the intersection at State Road beneath the Golden State Highway overpass. Truman ran into the roadway, and the driver hit him before stopping immediately.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police said neither drugs nor alcohol contributed to the crash.
