September 30, 2025, Hollister, CA: A major pedestrian accident took place on a highway in Hollister that led to serious injuries on Tuesday.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 2:18 p.m. in the northbound lanes of US-101. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was unexpectedly struck by a white Toyota sedan due to reasons that remain under investigation. The driver then fled the scene of the accident.
When emergency responders arrived on scene, they found the adult pedestrian male face-down in the slow lane. He was rushed to the hospital with major injuries but his current condition is not yet known.
Police began searching for the driver of the Toyota but did not say if they found them. Their investigation into the collision continues.
