Fresno County, CA – On the morning of Sunday, September 14, 2025, Victor Reyes Jr., 28, of Reedley, died in a head-on collision that also left two others injured, according to The Fresno Bee.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 8:35 AM on American Avenue, just west of Navalencia Avenue.
Investigators said Reyes drove a 2016 Acura TLX westbound on American Avenue when his vehicle crossed the center line into the path of a 2022 Ram Thor camper van traveling eastbound. The 62-year-old Manhattan Beach man behind the wheel of the Ram attempted to brake, but the Acura struck the front of the camper van head-on.
The crash forced the Acura to rotate clockwise before it came to rest on the south shoulder of the roadway. The camper van stopped in the eastbound lane. Emergency medical personnel responded and confirmed that Reyes died from his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Ram suffered moderate injuries. Paramedics transported him to a hospital for further treatment.
A 62-year-old woman inside the camper van also sustained injuries. CHP said she rode in the rear of the vehicle on a bed and was not wearing a seatbelt. The collision threw her forward within the van. Medical personnel evaluated her at the scene before transport, but her current condition remains unknown.
Officials confirmed that both drivers wore seat belts at the time of the crash. CHP stated that alcohol and drugs did not contribute to the collision.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the fatal wreck.
