Kerman, CA – In the morning of Friday, September 12, 2025, a two-vehicle collision involving a box truck killed one passenger and left two other people injured, according to KSEE.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:15 AM at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Siskiyou Avenue in Fresno County.
Investigators said a green sedan traveled eastbound on Belmont Avenue and began a left turn at Siskiyou Avenue. At the same time, a box truck headed westbound on Belmont entered the intersection. The sedan crossed in front of the truck, and the vehicles collided violently in the middle of the roadway.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and found two people trapped in the sedan, described as a couple in their mid-sixties. Medical crews confirmed that the front passenger died at the scene from the crash injuries. Paramedics transported the sedan’s driver to Community Regional Medical Center with significant trauma.
The box truck’s driver sustained minor injuries. He received treatment at the scene and cooperated fully with CHP investigators.
The crash forced authorities to close the intersection while emergency personnel worked. Crews treated the injured, conducted their investigation, and arranged for the removal of the vehicles. CHP confirmed that the roadway reopened at 10:32 AM, nearly three hours after the collision.
CHP investigators continue to examine the cause of the collision. They have not released the names of the victims, pending notification of family members by the coroner’s office.
