Lincoln, CA – On the morning of Monday, September 8, 2025, a collision between a sport utility vehicle and a big rig left the SUV driver dead, according to The Sacramento Bee.

The Lincoln Police Department reports that the crash took place shortly after 10:00 AM on Lincoln Boulevard at the entrance to the Sterling Pointe Center shopping plaza.

Officers said the SUV collided with a tractor-trailer hauling a fully loaded trailer. The SUV sustained major front-end damage, and the male driver became pinned inside the vehicle. Firefighters arrived at the scene and worked to free him, but medics pronounced him dead shortly afterward. Authorities confirmed that nobody else was inside the SUV.

Police said the big rig’s driver did not suffer injuries.

The Placer County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased driver’s name once family members receive notification.

Authorities closed the northbound lanes of Lincoln Boulevard for approximately two hours while officers conducted their investigation and crews cleared the roadway.

Lincoln Police stated that the cause of the crash remains under investigation and will require detailed reconstruction and analysis.
