Davis, CA – On the morning of Tuesday, August 26, 2025, a motorcycle crash involving a big rig killed Christopher Barr, 42, of Dixon, according to KCRA.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 4:45 AM on eastbound Interstate 80, just west of Mace Boulevard.

Investigators explained that a Volvo big rig hauling trailers traveled through a construction zone in the middle lane, when Barr approached on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Barr failed to reduce his speed and struck the rear of the big rig. The collision threw him from his motorcycle and into the roadway.

After the ejection, another vehicle traveling eastbound struck Barr. Authorities have not yet identified the driver or the vehicle that hit him. The impact caused fatal injuries that claimed Barr’s life at the scene.

Emergency responders quickly reached the crash site. Paramedics confirmed that Barr suffered injuries too severe to survive, and the Yolo County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity.

CHP officers stated that they found no evidence of driver intoxication in the collision.
