Bakersfield, CA – On the evening of Sunday, August 24, 2025, a crash at a central Bakersfield intersection severely injured a baby, according to KBAK.
The Bakersfield Police Department reported that the crash occurred at about 7:31 PM at the intersection of 8th Street and T Street.
When officers arrived, they located two vehicles: a red pickup truck and a silver sedan, both with visible damage from the collision. Police confirmed that a baby, who rode as a passenger in the silver sedan, sustained severe injuries in the crash.
Emergency medical personnel transported the infant to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment. No other passengers were inside either vehicle at the time of the crash.
Authorities explained that the woman driving the silver sedan traveled northbound on T Street, while the man driving the red pickup traveled westbound on 8th Street. The collision occurred within the intersection, which is controlled only by stop signs for northbound and southbound traffic.
Both drivers cooperated fully with the investigation and declined medical treatment at the scene. Police stated that they found no indication of alcohol or drug impairment.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances of the crash and have asked anyone with information to contact the Bakersfield Police Department.
Personal Injury Claims
After a traffic accident, victims and their families often deal with unexpected financial burdens, such as medical bills, lost income, and, in the worst cases, burial costs. A Personal Injury Claim allows accident victims to hold the at-fault party financially responsible for their costs of care.
