Placer County, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, July 7, 2025, a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV resulted in fatal injuries to the motorcyclist, according to ABC10, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 12:05 PM near the intersection of Foresthill Road and Happy Pines Drive.
Authorities say the crash involved a black Yamaha motorcycle and a purple GMC Acadia SUV. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire, and a small grass fire was also ignited nearby. Fire crews from the Placer Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fires.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. As of Monday evening, the victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. There were no immediate reports of injuries to the SUV’s occupants.
Investigators noted major damage to the left side of the SUV and confirmed that the motorcycle was fully burned. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by evidence tow.
CHP officials stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
