Camarillo, CA – On the early morning of Monday, July 7, 2025, a single-vehicle collision resulted in fatal injuries, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 2:21 AM at the Central Avenue on-ramp to northbound U.S. Highway 101.
The crash involved a silver Hyundai Elantra that left the roadway and went down an embankment. Responding fire personnel confirmed the vehicle had sustained major damage and located the occupant with fatal injuries at the scene. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency medical services transported a second individual from the scene to Ventura County Medical Center for further treatment, although the nature of that person’s injuries has not been publicly disclosed. The Hyundai was later recovered by a tow truck after being located with a flat tire and significant damage.
The impact of the crash also knocked down the on-ramp entrance sign. Caltrans was notified and responded to assess the damage and assist with traffic control. The area remained under partial closure for several hours while authorities documented evidence and worked to clear the scene.
It remains unclear whether speed, impairment, or mechanical failure may have been contributing factors. The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, and additional details are expected to be released as the case progresses.
