Waterford, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, June 16, 2025, a single-vehicle rollover crash fatally injured Zachariah Zane Law, 29, of Modesto, according to The Modesto Bee.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 4:15 PM near the intersection of Highway 132 and Rushing Road, east of Waterford.
According to investigators, Law was driving a 2002 Ford pickup westbound on Highway 132 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway and onto the north shoulder. The truck then overturned, sustaining major damage in the crash.
Emergency responders arriving on the scene found the vehicle on the shoulder and located Law a short distance away from the wreck. He had been ejected during the rollover and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident. The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
