June 2, 2025, Arvin, CA: On Monday morning, a head-on collision involving a big rig took place on a highway in Arvin that led to major injuries.
According to information provided by Bakersfield Now, the accident occurred at 8:19 a.m. on Tejon Highway north of Mountain View Road. Police confirmed that a Honda Accord was traveling in the area when it was involved in a head-on collision with a big rig. The big rig was pulling two trailers behind it at the time.
The driver of the Honda was pinned inside their vehicle as a result of the accident. They were rescued and then rushed to Kern Medical for treatment of major injuries. The driver of the big rig was not injured.
Police blocked off the road for some time, as diesel fuel cleanup had to take place.
