April 27, 2025, Davenport, CA: One person tragically lost their life in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on a highway in Davenport late Sunday night.
The accident, according to information provided by Kion46 News Channel, took place at 11:17 p.m. on Highway 1 near the area of Scott Creek and Swanton Road. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was walking in the southbound lane when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle. Several other vehicles then struck the pedestrian as well. The initial driver did not stop at the scene of the collision.
The pedestrian, who was only identified as an adult male, was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries.
Police later determined that the vehicle involved in the accident was a black Subaru Impreza. It may have damage to its front left corner.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
