Multi-Vehicle Crash at Harding, Wilson Way Kills 1, Injures 5 in Stockton

Stockton, CA – On the evening of Monday, April 14, 2025, a five-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 69-year-old motorcyclist and left a woman in critical condition, according to KCRA.

The Stockton Police Department reports that the accident took place around 6:20 PM near the intersection of Harding Way and Wilson Way in the Park District.

Authorities say the crash began when a car struck a motorcycle, triggering a chain reaction that led to collisions with three additional vehicles. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene due to fatal injuries. A woman involved in the crash was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition. Four other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical attention at the scene or nearby facilities.

All drivers and passengers involved remained at the location of the crash and cooperated with authorities. Preliminary investigations indicate that neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Wrongful Death Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility.  Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
