Bakersfield, CA – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified 36-year-old Jesus Francisco Borja as the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle on Union Avenue on the night of Tuesday, February 25, 2025, according to KGET.
The Bakersfield Police Department reports that the accident took place around 10:51 PM near East 9th Street in the 900 block of Union Avenue. Authorities said Borja was walking east across Union Avenue when he was struck by a silver Honda coupe traveling northbound.
Emergency responders arrived and found Borja with severe injuries. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda remained at the location and cooperated with law enforcement during the initial investigation.
Officials stated that neither speed nor impairment appeared to be factors in the crash. No other injuries were reported. The Bakersfield Police Department continues to investigate the incident and is urging any witnesses to come forward.
