Rosemont, CA – The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has identified 30-year-old Sacramento man Jose Alfredo Garcia as the driver who lost his life in a collision between an SUV and a construction vehicle on the morning of Wednesday, March 12, 2025, according to ABC10.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 5:57 AM near South Watt Avenue and Jackson Road.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Garcia’s 2017 Nissan Pathfinder had crashed into a 988 front loader, a large construction vehicle. Authorities stated that Garcia had been driving at a high rate of speed when the front loader, which was crossing the street from a private driveway, entered his path. Despite efforts from two spotters wearing traffic safety vests and using flashlights, the Nissan struck the left front tire of the loader before the driver could reverse.
Garcia, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered fatal injuries. His vehicle’s airbags deployed, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the front loader and the two spotters were unharmed.
Authorities have not yet determined whether alcohol, drugs, or a medical emergency played a role in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
