Woman Loses Life in Rancho Murieta Golf Cart Crash on Alameda Dr

Rancho Murieta, CA – On the afternoon of Tuesday, March 4, 2025, an elderly woman suffered fatal injuries after crashing a golf cart in a private community near the Rancho Murieta Country Club, according to The Sacramento Bee.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident occurred around 2:40 PM on Alameda Drive, just south of Rancho Murieta Parkway.

Investigators say the woman was driving the golf cart northbound when, for unknown reasons, she collided with a concrete curb and a median made of dirt and rocks. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the woman unresponsive. CPR was performed before she was transported to Mercy Hospital of Folsom, where she later died.

Authorities have not determined whether the woman’s death resulted from injuries sustained in the crash or if she experienced a medical emergency beforehand. The passenger in the golf cart, another woman, was not injured in the incident, according to officials.

The crash led to an emergency response that temporarily affected traffic in the area as authorities worked to assess the scene. CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, including any possible medical factors that may have contributed to the woman losing control of the vehicle.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
