Fresno, CA – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified 30-year-old Stevie Esqueda as the victim of a fatal pedestrian collision on Thursday, February 27, 2025, according to The Fresno Bee.
The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident occurred around 7:30 PM near the intersection of Hughes and Michigan Avenues.
Emergency responders arrived to find Esqueda lying in the roadway with severe injuries. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
Investigators determined that a southbound vehicle struck Esqueda while he was in the roadway. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Authorities stated that alcohol and drugs were not factors on the driver’s part.
The investigation remains ongoing as officers work to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
