Sacramento County, CA – On the early morning of Monday, February 24, 2025, Steven Tyler Williams, 22, of Galt, died in a single-vehicle crash, according to ABC10.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 1 AM near Bruceville and Desmond roads, approximately two miles from Sacramento County’s southern boundary.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Williams was driving a 1982 BMW eastbound on Desmond Road when he suddenly braked, lost control of the vehicle, and veered off the roadway. The car collided with a metal gate near Bruceville Road, causing significant damage to the vehicle. Authorities have not determined why Williams lost control.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but Williams was pronounced dead on-site due to the severity of his injuries. He was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information to contact the California Highway Patrol as the investigation remains ongoing.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
