February 5, 2025, Salinas, CA: Three students were injured in a school van accident that took place at an intersection in Salinas on Wednesday morning.
The accident, according to information provided by KSBW, happened at 7 a.m. at the intersection of Market Street and Davis Road. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling in the area in a white Acura when the front end of the vehicle slammed into the side of a school transportation van at the intersection. This caused the school van to flip over.
Three students, as well as the driver, were in the van at the time. They sustained injuries but none of them were reportedly major. The driver of the Acura also sustained minor injuries.
The school confirmed that the driver of the transportation van was doing everything according to safety protocols at the time of the accident.
No further details have been released. Police continue their investigation into the collision at this time.
