January 25, 2025, Lemoore, CA: Three people were killed in a fatal big rig accident that took place at a Lemoore intersection on Saturday night.
The accident, according to information provided by Your Central Valley, took place around 11:43 p.m. at the intersection of 17th Avenue and Kansas Avenue. A man was traveling east on Kansas Avenue in a 2020 Peterbilt 579 approaching the intersection while a man in a 2017 Toyota Camry was traveling south on 17thand also approaching the intersection. The two vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection. Police confirmed that the Peterbilt truck struck the Camry on its passenger side, causing the Camry to leave the roadway where it struck a metal pole.
Two passengers inside the Camry were tragically pronounced deceased on scene. Another passenger in the vehicle was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced deceased while there. The driver of the Camry, as well as their front-seat passenger, sustained injuries and were treated. The driver of the big rig was not injured.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision at this time.
