November 13, 2024, Bakersfield, CA: A pedestrian tragically lost their life in an accident that took place in Bakersfield on Wednesday morning.
According to information provided by KGET, the accident happened around 6 a.m. in the westbound lanes of China Grade Loop just west of Bedford Way. A Toyota was traveling westbound when they collided with a pedestrian who was allegedly crossing the street at the time.
The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of their injuries. The driver, who remained on scene, was not hurt in the accident.
Eastbound lanes of traffic were blocked for two hours as police worked to clear the scene.
