October 3, 2024, Bakersfield, CA: A pedestrian was seriously injured in an accident that took place on a road in Bakersfield on Thursday evening.
The accident, according to information provided by Bakersfield Now, took place around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of East California Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A pedestrian was walking in the area when they were struck by a passenger vehicle at the intersection.
The pedestrian, who was only identified as an adult male, sustained major injuries. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Nobody else sustained injuries in an accident.
The intersection was blocked for some time as police worked to clear the scene.
