September 25, 2024, Fairfield, CA: A woman was tragically killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that happened in Fairfield on Wednesday morning.
According to information provided by KCRA, the accident took place at 8:29 a.m. on Waterman Boulevard around the area of Capitola Way and Barbour Drive. A female pedestrian was allegedly walking across the street in the area when she was suddenly struck by the driver of a passenger vehicle. Following the accident, the driver remained on scene.
The female pedestrian was tragically pronounced deceased on scene as a result of her injuries. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
Waterman Boulevard was blocked in the area for some time. Drivers were told to detour to Oliver Road until the area was cleared.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
