A man was killed in a fatal car accident that took place at an intersection in Hanford on Monday morning. According to information provided by Your Central Valley, the collision happened around 9:22 a.m. at the intersection of 14th Avenue and Fargo Avenue on November 20, 2023.
At the time, California Highway Patrol reported that a driver was in a Hyundai Tucson headed east toward the intersection. At the same time, a Ford F-350 was approaching the intersection from 14th Avenue. The Hyundai entered the intersection, putting them in the path of the Ford. The driver of the Ford was unable to stop, causing the vehicle to collide with the left side of the Hyundai. The Hyundai then veered off the side of the road and into a power pole.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene immediately following the collision. The passenger in the Hyundai, who has been identified as a 71-year-old man, was unconscious at the scene with traumatic injuries. He was rushed to the hospital by EMS but was tragically pronounced dead while there.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances that led to the collision.
