Seven Vehicle Accident on 605 Freeway in Lakewood Claims Man’s Life

An accident on Los Angeles County freeways can involve fast-moving traffic and one collision can quickly draw in many other motorists. A single impact may suddenly become a much bigger accident when approaching cars don’t see the initial scene in time and can’t stop to avoid a secondary crash.

The blame will have to be sorted out, and in some cases, several drivers may be assigned fault in the accident. This can make a number of motorists responsible for the harm caused to victims.

Man Loses Life in Seven Vehicle Pile-up in Lakewood

A man was tragically killed after a multivehicle weekend accident in eastern Lakewood. According to The Press-Telegram, the accident occurred along the 605 Freeway on Sunday night July 2, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol was dispatched to the southbound lanes near the Carson Street exit around 8:15 pm. A reporter at the scene said that the pile-up was the result of vehicles that couldn’t stop in time to avoid the wreckage of a previous accident. In all, seven vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction collisions.

The reporter said that a 54-year-old man from Westminster in Orange County was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced dead. Another motorist in the accident was also taken to the hospital. The second victim’s condition was not known.

The California Highway Patrol continues to work to determine the circumstances leading up to the frightening accident.

Securing Help for Victims and Their Family Members After a Lakewood Accident

Multi-vehicle accidents on local freeways can result in traumatic injuries and the tragic loss of life. Families may have to file a wrongful death claim on behalf of a loved one and seek help from at-fault drivers. They should expect help from car insurance providers with funeral costs, medical fees, and with the lost weekly income a victim can no longer offer the family.

Surviving victims would want to seek help with all medical bills now and those expected in the coming months. They should earn help with the paychecks they lose while they must miss work. They can also seek damages for the physical pain and emotional trauma they are put through.

After a multi-car accident, there may be several drivers who are assigned liability for a crash.
