Fatal Bicycle Accidents in Visalia and Wrongful Death Claims
While no amount of money can bring back a loved one, the costs of losing them should be borne by those responsible. If the driver of the vehicle that struck the bicyclist is proven to be at fault, the victim’s family may have grounds for a wrongful death claim. A wrongful death claim can provide compensation for damages such as funeral expenses and the loss of support and companionship provided by the deceased.
If negligence on the part of the bicyclist also contributed to the fatal accident, any wrongful death settlement may be decreased, but that would not bar her family from seeking compensation.
