October 16, 2026, Santa Cruz, CA: A bicycle accident with injuries occurred on a roadway in Santa Cruz on Friday afternoon.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 2:57 p.m. at 1515 Soquel Drive in Santa Cruz. Police confirmed that a bicyclist was traveling in the area when they were struck hard by a driver in a Ford SUV. The bicyclist was thrown onto the ground due to the accident.
Paramedics were called to the scene to assist. The bicyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
