August 18, 2026, Visalia, CA: A rear-end collision with injuries took place on a major highway in Visalia on Tuesday morning.
According to Visalia Stringer, the accident happened at 8 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of CA-198 around the area of CA-99. Police confirmed that a passenger vehicle slammed into the back of an SUV, leading to extensive damage and the SUV veering into the center divider area.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. One person received injuries to their back and was taken to the hospital. It is not known if any others were injured.
No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the accident continues.
