July 10, 2026, Fairfield, CA: On Friday morning, a man was tragically killed in a fatal accident on a highway in Fairfield.
According to KCRA, the accident happened around 2:36 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-80 near Red Top Road. Police confirmed that a man in a gray Lexus sedan was involved in a crash with a black Lexus sedan. This caused the man’s vehicle to hit the center median, where it overturned on the highway. A gray Dodge SUV then slammed into the gray Lexus.
Police confirmed that the driver of the gray Lexus, a 60-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
Lanes were blocked for several hours after the accident. Police reopened the highway fully at 5:50 a.m.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
