Multi-Vehicle Crash Injures 11 at Golden Valley Rd, Centre Pointe Pkwy in Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita, CA – On the morning of Wednesday, May 13, 2026, a multi-vehicle collision involving a bus, a big rig, and two other vehicles left 11 people injured, one critically, according to ABC7.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reports that the accident took place shortly after 9:30 AM at the intersection of Golden Valley Road and Centre Pointe Parkway.

Authorities said a big rig hauling gravel was attempting to make a turn when it crashed into a Santa Clarita Transit bus, with two other vehicles also becoming involved in the collision. Eight people were transported to local hospitals, including one in critical condition. Three additional people were treated at the scene and released. Emergency personnel initially reported 13 injuries before updating the count to 11.

A sobriety test was conducted on the driver of the big rig, and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the crash. Sheriff’s officials were working to reconstruct the crash scene as part of the investigation. Road closures were expected to remain in place for several hours while investigators processed the area.

The cause of the collision had not been determined at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s comparative negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
