UPDATE: Motorcyclist Trevon Hayes, 31, Dies after Crash at Northgate Blvd, Bridgeford Dr in Sacramento

Sacramento, CA – On the morning of Monday, May 11, 2026, a vehicle-vs-motorcycle collision resulted in the death of rider Trevon Hayes, 31, according to FOX40.

The Sacramento Police Department reports that the accident took place just after 10:30 AM at Northgate Boulevard and Bridgeford Drive.

Authorities said Hayes sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead later that Monday night. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office formally identified him following his death.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Driving under the influence does not appear to have been a factor in the collision.

Northgate Boulevard was closed in both directions from Sotano Drive to Haggin Avenue while officers investigated the crash before reopening later in the afternoon. The investigation remains ongoing.

Wrongful Death Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s comparative negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility.

Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
