Edison Hwy, Oswell St Rollover Injures 1 in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA – On the afternoon of Friday, May 1, 2026, a single-vehicle rollover collision left at least one person seriously injured near Edison Highway and Oswell Street, according to KGET.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 4:27 PM,

Authorities said a gray sedan appeared to have lost control, rolled over, and came to rest on its roof before catching fire. The driver was able to exit the vehicle following the crash. 

At least one person sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Emergency personnel responded to the scene to attend to those injured and address the vehicle fire.

The cause of the crash had not been determined at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
