February 28, 2026, Discovery Bay, CA: One person tragically lost their life in a fatal multi-vehicle collision on a highway in Discovery Bay on Saturday.
According to Kion News, the accident happened around 3:45 p.m. on Highway 4 near the area of the Old River Bridge. Police confirmed that three vehicles were traveling in the area when they were involved in the crash. A Chevrolet Silverado was headed west on the highway with a motorcycle traveling behind it. A white pickup truck was headed east when the driver of the Silverado braked and went into the other lane of traffic, hitting the other truck. The white truck when slammed into the motorcyclist and went into an irrigation canal, where it overturned.
The driver of the white truck was tragically pronounced dead on scene. It is not known if any other parties sustained injuries.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
