February 3, 2026, Bakersfield, CA: A skateboard accident involving a school but took place at a Bakersfield intersection on Tuesday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 8:55 a.m. at the intersection of La Costa Court and Auburn Street. Police confirmed that a juvenile was riding on a skateboard near the intersection when they were struck by a school bus transporting children to school. The driver of the bus immediately stopped and remained on scene.
The juvenile sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. No children on the bus were hurt.
