Bakersfield, CA – Authorities have identified 32-year-old Amir Reza Khazaieli of Sacramento as the man who lost his life in a single-vehicle rollover crash in the early hours of Friday, October 31, 2025, which also resulted in injuries to a 30-year-old Sacramento woman, according to KBAK.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 5:38 AM on Interstate 5 north of Lerdo Highway.
Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a crash involving a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser traveling northbound at approximately 70 miles per hour in the number one lane. A preliminary investigation determined that, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle drifted into the number two lane before abruptly returning to the number one lane. The SUV then veered back into the number two lane, left the roadway onto the shoulder, and overturned before coming to rest on its wheels.
Khazaieli, who was seated in the right front passenger seat, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained minor injuries in the crash. A 1-year-old girl riding in the back seat was not injured. Investigators determined that all occupants were properly restrained, including the child, who was secured in a car seat at the time of the collision.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Passenger Liability
Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a Wrongful Death Claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming. As a neutral third party, an experienced personal injury attorney can help navigate these emotional complexities.
