Sacramento, CA – On the afternoon of Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Ronnie Metcalf, 70, of West Sacramento, died following a plane crash near Claire Avenue and Rio Linda Boulevard, according to ABC10.
Sacramento County Coroner’s records indicate Metcalf succumbed to injuries sustained in the aviation incident, which was reported at approximately 12:30 PM on Christmas Eve.
Emergency crews responded to the crash site after reports of a small aircraft going down in the area. Sacramento Fire Department personnel provided medical aid and coordinated rescue efforts at the scene.
Authorities previously reported that two men were in critical condition following the crash. One individual was extricated from the aircraft by emergency responders due to the severity of the wreckage.
At the time of the incident, fire officials stated that one patient suffered a possible femur fracture, while the other sustained a potential head injury accompanied by an altered level of consciousness. Both were transported for advanced medical care.
According to preliminary information provided by fire officials, witnesses reported hearing the aircraft shortly after takeoff before the sound abruptly stopped. Moments later, witnesses observed the plane descending and crashing.
