Lemoore, CA – On the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, a woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision near Lemoore, according to KSEE.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 9:45 PM at the intersection of Fremont Avenue and northbound Highway 41.
Investigators stated that the woman was driving a 2019 Jeep Renegade eastbound on Fremont Avenue as it crossed Highway 41. At the same time, a man was driving a 2013 Chrysler 300 northbound on Highway 41, approaching the Fremont Avenue intersection.
For reasons that remain under investigation, CHP said the Jeep continued into the intersection and entered directly into the path of the northbound Chrysler. The two vehicles collided within the intersection, resulting in major damage.
The woman driving the Jeep sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene following emergency response efforts.
The driver of the Chrysler and a passenger traveling in that vehicle sustained minor to moderate injuries. Both were transported for medical evaluation and treatment, according to CHP.
California Highway Patrol officers secured the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation. Traffic was affected in the area while emergency crews and investigators worked to document evidence and clear the roadway.
The identities of those involved have not been released, pending notification of next of kin. CHP stated that the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
Ongoing Investigations
Victims of traffic accidents and their families should be aware that authorities may fail to note or even misinterpret critical evidence at a crash site. One of the services that a Personal Injury Attorney can provide is to pursue follow-up investigations, which can reveal additional evidence to correct any errors made by previous investigators.
Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
