Fresno, CA – An unidentified woman in her late 20s was seriously injured on the evening of Saturday, January 10, 2026, after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision near the intersection of Ashlan Avenue and Blackstone Avenue, according to KSEE.
The Fresno Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the scene just after 6:00 PM following reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the woman lying in the roadway with significant injuries.
First responders rendered medical aid at the scene in accordance with emergency response protocols. The woman was subsequently transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was listed in serious condition.
Investigators stated that the driver involved initially fled the scene following the collision. Officers were able to locate and stop the suspect vehicle shortly afterward in the parking lot of a nearby Walmart.
Fresno police confirmed that a DUI investigation is being conducted in connection with the incident. Authorities indicated that the surrounding area was temporarily closed to traffic while officers documented the scene and conducted the investigation.
