Benicia, CA – On the morning of Monday, December 9, 2025, a single-vehicle collision resulted in 23-year-old Jacob Dortch losing his life after suffering extensive injuries when his vehicle crashed on Interstate 780, according to KRON, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:45 AM on westbound Highway 780 near Southampton Road.
