El Dorado County, CA – In the early hours of Friday, November 28, 2025, a single-vehicle collision caused a driver to lose his life after his pickup truck crashed into a tree, according to ABC10, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:29 AM near Highway 193 and Longview Lane.
Officials said the man had been driving a black pickup truck towing a small utility trailer westbound on Highway 193 when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree. Responding crews found the truck severely damaged.
Fire personnel checked the scene for additional hazards, including damage to the attached trailer, which had a flat tire and required specialized towing.
Authorities noted that the circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation as crews continued clearing the wreckage from the roadside.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
